It's been ranked as one of the top 5 Rainbow streams in the world. Moraine Creek is a small, slow-moving waterway in The Katmai Preserve bursting with big, beautiful Leopard Rainbow Trout and Sockeye Salmon.
Moraine Creek is no secret to Bristol Bay area lodges. Float planes fly fishermen in and out daily throughout the summer, and it's easy to understand why it's so popular. The river branches off of Kukaklek Lake opening miles of wadeable pools with schools of Sockeye Salmon and fat, colorful Rainbows lurking right behind them. Unlike the daily lodge clients who only have access to a small part of the river, you'll be floating through water that appears to be untouched...well out of reach for planes...and abundantly filled with fish. With our Catarafts, we can easily maneuver through the narrow channel and take you from pool to pool where you'll share your fishing experience with bold Brown Bears and surrounding wildlife. On your 7th night, we'll take you to Iliamna Lake Lodge where you'll enjoy a hot shower, hearty meal and a comfortable bed. This is your chance to relax and regroup before catching the morning flight back to Anchorage.
